Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated countries in the world. It's smaller than Iowa, but with a population of 154 million, it has more than 1000 persons per square kilometer (.62 miles).
In rural areas, most people lack access to basic sanitation and proper drainage systems, which further contaminates their water sources. Many households depend on highly stressed neighboring water points that are functional only a few months out of the year. Others collect water from distant rivers or streams.
Waterborne diseases are a major threat here, but our new and rehabilitated wells bring clean, life-saving water to the surface.
